Korea Independence Day Celebration in Bayside Library

Bayside Library was a full house with 40-50 people, some unable to sit so looked through the window. Indeed beautiful photos of 1, 1.5 and 2nd generation leaders from both Korea and India to celebrate Korean Independence Day. (with surprise of Indian leaders’ speeches) From left Dr. Yousuf Syed, Bradley Sheen, William Ban, Joshua Lee, Soh Young Lee-Segredo, Arvind Vora and Oak Joo Moon. Program included singing Korean and American National Anthems, Korean Independence Day Song and March 1 Movement Day song with cello and Korean Hour Glass Drum. Pansori singer Oak Jo Moon sang Sarang Ga & Sachul Ga as well as her version March 1 Movement Song. Korean Independence Day Song was joined by many young children and adults from audience holding the Korean Flag.  Soh Young Lee-Segredo sang Chalte, Chalte Indian Song and Arirang Korean song, Special guests from Indian community spoke about two countries similarities, success and world peace. Korean press, TKC and K Korea 1660 am were there. TKC uploaded video on Aug 13 and K Korea 1660 aired part of the skit on Aug 13 in the evening.
