Easter Sunrise Service at Jones Beach

The Multicultural Peace Mission Choir was sing Morning Has Broken and How Great Thou Art at the LI Council of Chuches Easter Sunrise Service at Jones Beach Parking Lot 6 at 6 am on April 21, 2014. The weather was warmer than other years and  sun was rising while the service began. This year the singers  represented Christian denomination such as Catholic, United Methodist, Lutheran, Presbyterian, etc. The far left ( right of Soh Young) is Pastor Tom Goodhue, the executive director of LICC. The service had children’s sermon, litergical dancing and ending hymn of Christ the Lord is Risen Today.

Sunday, April 21, 6 am at Jones Beach Parking Lot 6. The Multicultural Peace Mission Choir will sing at the Long Island Council of Chuches Easter Sunrise Service. This is the MCPM Choir’s 5th year participating at this event. It is extremely cold so whom ever joining us bring beach chair, blanckets and dress warm. Happy Easter!

Nassau County Distinguish Women Award

Nassau County Executive and his wife, Ed and Linda Mangano started Nassau County Distinguish Women Award in 2009 post Sandy. Over 100 women were nominated from all over the Nassau County and 26 selected finalist women were honored on April 9, at 6:30 pm in the Nassau County Legislator’s Building. Gina Shin received award for her work in Mental Health. She was nominated by Minsun Kim, from LI Conservatory. Soh Young Lee-Segredo was nominated by KWV NYS President Sal Scalato and Secretary Mr. Johnsejong Ha, Director of JCRCLI, Daivd Newman (Jewish Community Relations Council LI) and Music Coordinator of  Christ First Presbyterian Church of Hempstead, June Bernardin. She was recognized for her dedication on promoting Education and Performing Arts. Among the women were 91. 89 year olds who still dedicate and volunteer in different communities and organizations. It was truly a celebration of diverse women.  I will continue to work to bridge the gap, harmony and understanding of each other.

Orchestra Society at Freeport Public Library

Daniel Lee Segredo performed a song for the debut performance concert of Orchestra Society at Freeport Public Library on April 3, 7 pm.
