Fri, February 28, 2014, at 6 pm: Soh Young Lee-Segredo presented instantly put together choir from students fron the Front Street School for the celebration. The principal Mr. Brown was one of the honorees. Freeport United Methodist Church Black History Month

Sat, Feb. 22, 2014, 6 pm: Freeport United Methodist Church Worship and Music Committee sponsored concert to celebrate the Black History Month. This was first event of Multicultural Council of NY , established in 2013 by Soh Young Lee-Segredo, to promote and work with diverse communities.

The church is one of the oldest churches in Hempstead. Here we are with her pastor ( to my right) and guest preacher from Presbyterian Church of Jamaica, Queens ( to my left) after the breakfast  celebrating Black History Month. 

Lunar New Year celebration at Queens Public Library

Parade from 11:00 am till 1:00 pm, From Union Street around Main Street) Celebration Performance from 3 till 5 pm in Dae Dong Manor: Spirit of Korea, funded by Queens Public Library New Americans Program and partially sponsored by the Korean American Association of Queens. With Mr. John Yoon, instumentalist who played Sogum, Daegum, Saxophone, wind instruments, Oak Joo Moon, Pansori singer who did Sachulga, song of Seasons.

Sat, Feb 1, 2014n As A celebration of The Lunar New Year, 40 people atrended Korean cooking class, one of the most popular Lunar New Year program at Main Steeet Library: How to make Korean brown sauce, Duenjang.
